Mrs. Youdon Aukatsang is currently the Director of Empowering the Vision Project [ENVISION]. Prior to that, she worked for three years as an Independent Consultant for Kreddha International, an organization based in The Hague, The Netherlands, dedicated to prevention and resolution of intra-state conflicts.
She was appointed the Senior Program Officer of the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) based in Dharamsala, India from 2000- 2003 and is still involved with the Center as a member of the Board. She worked with Tibetan Women's Association from 1994-96 as the Research Associate and later also elected as an Executive Member.
Mrs. Aukatsang is also an elected member of parliament since 2006 to the 14th House of the Tibetan Parliament in exile.
She is a recipient of Fulbright Scholarship (1996) under which she completed her Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School, Tufts University, MA (USA) with focus on negotiation and conflict resolution. During her 18-month academic training period, she worked as a part-time Outreach Officer with Irish Immigration Center, Boston, MA and also undertook a paid internship with Office of Refugees and Immigrants, Massachusetts State.
Ms. Aukatsang did her Master of Arts in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India with focus on Chinese Foreign Policy and a bachelor's in Political Science from Lady Shriram College for Women, Delhi University
