Science Education- An Overview 

Science, in broad sense, refers to any systematic knowledge or practice that is achieved through scientific method and research. The word Science has been derived from the Latin word ‘scientia’ meaning knowledge.

Science can be broadly classified under two categories: Natural sciences, which study natural phenomena (including biological life), and Social sciences, which study human behavior and societies. Our present concern is concentrated on natural science which can also be called as basis sciences.

If we consider Science as a discipline of study, then it includes various subjects like, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, etc. College education in sciences (Physics, /Chemistry, /Biology, Mathematics, etc) paves the way for carrying out research work.
