HINDU 

PROFILE | The college is known to make leaders out of its students. Many of the who’s who from the political and industrial arena have passed out of this college. The students of Hindu are known to have a penchant for free speech and expression. The college sees high cut-offs — beyond 90% — for courses like BCom (hons) or economics (hons) every year. Hindu is one of the 12 colleges that will admit students for its English (hons) course through the Common Aptitude Test for English this year

PROFILE | Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is a dream destination for students wishing to pursue undergraduate studies in commerce and economics. PROFILE | Established in 1991, Acharya Narendra Dev College the only college with specific focus on science courses. Principal Savithri Singh says, ‘‘Science cannot be taught through lectures. There should be opportunity for every student to explore. So we put a lot of stress on research even at the undergraduate level.’’ One of the students in the college recently won the Young Scientist Award from the Delhi Council of Science & Technolgy. She was granted Rs 3 lakh for doing research.

It was affiliated to Delhi University in 1928. While evening classes began in 1958, the college got its present name in 1975. The college shifted to its present premises in 1991.
