Position: Executive Director
The company`s overall objective:
A sustainable company producing Fair Trade Tibetan carpets for the local and the export market. Provide quality service to small producer organizations in order to help them export their handicrafts.
The new company is setup as a private limited company registered under the companies’ act, 1956 in place of an old company registered as a sole propriety for over three decades.
Main responsibilities and working tasks:
The Executive Director answers directly to the Board.
The Executive Director is responsible for the production carried out by 22 employees.
Act within the powers in order to ensure that the company follows its constitution as set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
Act with responsibility/professional manner in order to achieve the success of the company.
Strive towards increased sales both locally and for export market.
Do the annual planning and, of most importance, analyse the results and take actions.
Work for the well-being of the employees, suppliers and customers.
Work for the well-being of the community and the environment.
Carry out all duties within Fair Trade principles.
Any other work that may be assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
Preferably a university degree in economics, commerce, business management, or equivalent academic or work experience.
Good marketing experience
Basic computer knowledge
Work experience within small scale industries for a minimum of 3-5 years at managerial level
Accounts background will be preferred
Good communication skills in English, Hindi, & Tibetan
Interest in Fair Trade
Salary:
Negotiable depending on candidates’ experience and qualifications
